Candidates who have successfully applied for this prestigious recruitment rally/online exam can now download their e-Admit Cards. Age Limit Criteria for Intake 01/2027
The Indian Air Force has strict age criteria for the Medical Assistant trade. The age limits differ for candidates holding a 10+2 qualification versus those holding a Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy.

*Note: In case a candidate clears all stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit as on the date of enrolment should not exceed 21 years (for 10+2) and 24 years (for Diploma/B.Sc). Both dates mentioned in the blocks are inclusive.
Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the highly specific educational requirements to be eligible for the Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trade. There are two pathways of entry:
- For 10+2 / Intermediate Candidates:
Candidate should have passed 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), and English from educational boards recognized by Central, State, or UT boards with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 50% marks in English.
- For Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy Candidates:
Candidate should have passed Intermediate/10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks. AND must have a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) or B.Sc in Pharmacy with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must be registered with the State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
Detailed Selection Process & Phase-I Exam Pattern
The Indian Air Force Airmen Medical Assistant selection involves rigorous testing across three main phases:
- Phase I (Written Exam): Objective type Computer Based Online Test (CBT).
- Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Test-II, and Document Verification.
- Phase III: Detailed Medical Examination at Air Force Medical Board.

Marking Scheme: 1 Mark for every correct answer. 0.25 Marks (1/4th) will be deducted for each wrong answer. Unattempted questions will receive 0 marks.
Phase-II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Adaptability
- PFT-1 (Running): Candidates have to complete a 1.6 Km run within 7 minutes.
- PFT-2 (Exercises): Candidates who qualify in the run must complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify the Physical Fitness Test.
- Adaptability Test-II: All candidates who pass the PFT will undergo Adaptability Test-II, designed to assess a candidate’s suitability to the environment of the Indian Air Force and ability to adapt to the military way of life (This typically includes Group Discussions and SRTs).
Mandatory Physical & Medical Standards (Phase III)
To get enrolled in the IAF, meeting the strict physical and medical standards is non-negotiable. The medical exam is conducted by the Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy.
- Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms.
- Chest: Well proportioned and well developed with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cms.
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
- Hearing: Should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.
- Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
- Visual Standards: Visual Acuity must be 6/36 for each eye, correctable to 6/9 for each eye. Refractive error should not exceed Hypermetropia: +3.5D, Myopia: -3.5D. Corneal surgery (LASIK/PRK) is not acceptable.
- General Health: Candidates should be free from any appendicular/skeletal deformities, cardiovascular, respiratory, or skin diseases. They should be physically and mentally fit to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
- Tattoo Policy: Permanent body tattoos are not permitted. However, tattoos on the inner face of the forearms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of the palm, and tribal tattoos are permitted case-by-case.
Exam Day Guidelines & Documents Required
Candidates must carry the following items to the Examination Centre for Phase-I & Phase-II. Failure to bring these will result in immediate disqualification:
- Colour Printout of Admit Card: Black and white printouts are strictly prohibited. Carry a clear, coloured printout of the E-Admit Card.
- Passport Size Photographs: Bring at least 2-4 recent passport-size colour photographs (the same one uploaded during the online application, holding the slate/placard).
- Original Identity Proof: Valid Original Photo ID (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Passport). The name on the ID must match the Admit Card exactly.
- Blue/Black Ball Point Pen: For signing attendance sheets and rough work.
- For Phase-II Only: If you clear Phase-I, you must bring Original 10th and 12th passing certificates & mark sheets, Diploma/B.Sc certificates, Pharmacy Council Registration, NCC certificates (if applicable), and the Consent Form signed by parents (if under 18 years of age).
- Prohibited Items: Electronic gadgets, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, and bags are not allowed inside the Air Force Exam Centres.

- Click on the link titled “Download Admit Card / Check Exam City”.
- You will be redirected to the official CASB (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) Airmen selection portal.
- Enter your registered Email ID and Password generated during the application process.
- Enter the correct Captcha code shown on the screen and click “Sign In”.
- Click on the “Exam City & Admit Card” tab on your dashboard.
- If your exam is within 48 to 72 hours, the download button for the Admit Card will be active. Otherwise, only the Exam Date and City will be displayed.

Q1: When will the IAF Medical Assistant Intake 01/2027 admit card be available for download?
